Privacy Policy

Deforest a Planet, by Venusian Games. Last updated 10 August 2026.

This game stores as little about you as it can while still letting you keep your progress. This page says exactly what that is, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.

If you play without signing in

You can play the whole game without an account. When you do, your progress is saved on your own device — in your browser's storage on the web, or in the app's storage on a phone or computer.

A copy is also kept in the cloud under an anonymous identifier, so that clearing your browser cache does not necessarily end your run. That identifier is a random string. It is not linked to your name, your email address, or anything else about you, and it cannot be used to identify you.

If you sign in with Google or Apple

Signing in lets your progress follow you between devices, and lets you appear on the leaderboards. We receive from your provider, and store:

We never ask you to type a display name, because a name you choose is a name somebody has to moderate. If you sign in with Apple and use Hide My Email, we only ever see the forwarding address Apple generates, which is exactly as much as we need.

We never receive your password. Signing in happens on your provider's own page.

What the game stores about your play

What the game does not do

Where it is kept

Saves, names and clear times are stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in Europe. Supabase processes this data on our instructions and for no purpose of its own.

If you play in a browser, the page itself is served by Cloudflare or by itch.io, depending on where you found it. Both keep their own server logs, which are governed by their policies rather than this one.

Why we are allowed to keep it

Under the GDPR, we store your save and your account because you asked us to — it is what makes the game work across your devices, and we could not provide that without it. Leaderboard entries are published because appearing on them is the point of submitting a time; if you would rather not appear, do not sign in, and play anonymously instead.

How long it is kept

For as long as you have an account, and until you ask us to delete it. Anonymous saves that have not been touched for two years are deleted, since nobody can ever claim them.

Getting your data, or deleting it

Email contact@venusiangames.com from the address you signed in with, and we will send you a copy of everything we hold, or delete all of it, within 30 days.

Deletion means deletion: your account, your save, your device identifiers and your leaderboard entries all go, and they are not recoverable afterwards. There is no hidden copy kept for analytics, because there are no analytics.

If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to correct your data, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

This game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything about them. If you believe a child has signed in, email us and we will delete the account.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or what we do with it, the date at the top changes and the game will say so the next time you play. We will not quietly start collecting something new.
